Boston Dynamics unveiled electric Atlas in April 2024 from the Waltham campus. Hydraulics retired. The new machine is a factory and warehouse humanoid - Hyundai-owned, built on Smith Street, aimed at work, not a parkour reel.
Spot and Stretch already ship from the same roof. Atlas is the third product on that floor. The gym, the assembly cells, and the test space are in Waltham. Electric drive is how they turn a research platform into something a plant will sign for.
The file on Atlas is no longer a demo. It is a SKU. Waltham is where it learns the job.
