Dusty, HP, Civ, and Rugged print the coordinated model onto the floor. Layout is a machine job now.
On a Monday pour the coordinated model still lives on a laptop in the trailer. The floor gets a string, a snap, and an argument about which hanger revision is current. Dusty, HP, Rugged, and Civ sell machines that print that model at 1:1 instead.
Dusty Robotics opened the market. The FieldPrinter rolls BIM onto the slab at about 1/16-inch, ten to fifteen thousand square feet a day. About 150 printers are on North American decks. Every trade walks the same drawing.
HP SitePrint is a jobsite-size layout printer from a company that already lives on registration. MEP and architectural marks come out of the model at full scale. Rugged Robotics in Houston sells the same idea as a service - yellow wheels, a black chassis - so a contractor does not have to own the printer.
Civ Robotics took the printer off the interior slab. CivDot stakes civil work: solar farms, dirt, the survey crew that used to walk grade with a pouch of lath. Pair it with CivDash when the lines also have to be painted.
Four companies, one job: get the model onto the work before the trades start. The chalk line is still in the gang box. It is no longer the plan.
